Text Box: Girl/Adult Partnership

In Girl Scouting, girls and adults work together to plan and carry out the activities done in the troop/group. Girl Scouting is unique because of it’s girl/adult partnership.  It allows the girls to take the lead as the adults guide them in achieving their goals and carrying out their plans.

Troop Government

Troop/Group Government allows each girl the opportunity to be a leader within the troop and have a say in what the troop does.  The primary form of government in Girl Scouts is the Girl Scout Circle.  It should last for about 15 minutes per meeting. This is the place where you will offer the girls choices about their activities.

Planning With The Girls

Share ideas and listen to others: Ask them what they want to do

Decide what they want to do as a group: Give choices and let them vote

Make a Kaper Chart: Organize the responsibilities

Evaluate The Activity: Find out what they liked and disliked about an activity. Questions should be based on the 4 program Goals.

Be Prepared

Establish Discussion Process

Girls should raise their hands or 3 fingers when they want a turn to talk

Record Discussion

Evaluate
